Somport tunnel. (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know if the Somport is now reopened. It was closed in June when we came up from Spain and there is no way I want to go over the ski run again especially with Smudger behind me.

Hi Dave, came thru tunnel from Pau 15 August and apart from some road works on the approach,no problems encountered. Enjoy your trip.

Cheers Bryan, It was a nightmare going over the tops in June with a 3.5 ton weight limit on it and I was running light at around 8 ton with the trailer empty. I dont fancy that again fully freighted. There was no warning until I got to the tunnel entrance and they had put concrete blocks in front of it.

Went through the tunnel today from Spain to France. All of the approach roads are completely free of snow on both sides of the border, in case anyone is wondering. There are a couple of circulations alternee where the road is being mended, but altogether it's a very viable alternative to Irun/Hendaye.
