In late July we are heading from the Euro Tunnel to a campsite in Sirolo on the Adriatic Coast not far from Ancona. On the way we will be stopping for 3 nights in Camping Village Conca D'Oro on Lake Maggiore. The drive from Calais to Lake Maggiore is too far so I'm looking for a one night stop possibly in Germany and en route if anyone has any ideas? I can't book anywhere of course because nowhere on the Continent will take a booking of less than one week in peak season? Looking for a campsite with a bar and restaurant preferably.

Nearly every town we went through in the Black Forest, on way home from Italy, had a Stellplatz in the centre. Choice of bars and restaurants then of course. However I do realise that you might be arriving late in day and a risk of being full.
We have stayed on the ACSI site in Colmar near the border with Germany This is a lovely little town.
