The next best thing to useless if you already have solar panels. 1 man and his dob may find somewhere to store it

Size is everything in solar - this just hasn't got that.

It would have been more believable and of more use with a USB socket instead

I bought a Freeloader and, subsequently, the additional Supercharger a few years ago when we had the previous van with only the freestanding panel.

It works but it isn't fantastic and the USB port on the Supercharger was weak. The soldered connection partially broke several times and I fixed it but finally came apart completely. Now taking up cupboard/drawer space somewhere I think.

It's much easier to charge phones &c from the 12v socket in the van.

started when I was 11 with my parents-forgot to stop!been real one since 1980!
Thanks for that everyone. I have a Power Monkey and Gorilla to charge phone, laptop and Ipod, but I have extra batteries for each item 1 in use and 1 being charged. I used them in Mongolia and they were adequate but you have to ensure your power stewardship is top notch.I also had a wind up radio, battery charger and torch.
There are at least 3 manufactured versions of this all around the same size,I won't consider these and stick to what I already have.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see it has a solar array about the size of a half crown. If you only want to charge your 'phone once every 6 months it will be fine. The claim on the site it recharges itself after less than 8 hours is hard to believe even given its low capacity.
