I've looked at quite a few posts on the subject although I can't find anything too recent.

Firstly what software can people recommend, free is good but don't mind paying if its worth it? I want to copy my own DVDs for personal use so must be able to bypass any manufacturers protection on the disc.

Secondly is it possible to rip DVDs first and then batch convert a number of DVDs file formats later? This should hopefully make the process less time consuming for me as the batch conversion could be left to run overnight. Maybe two separate bits of software?

Thanks

Paul

Another vote for Freemake... Used it for years.. Very easy and does the job.

Thanks @shawn&emma Do you then watch them on laptop or on a TV
using USB or USB HDD?

I saved them all on a separate hard drive and watch them via a usb lead on the laptop, not tried but I guess you can do the same with the tv.
Not sure about the USB HDD.
