Timing belt was changed today,so glad i decided to change it because one of the tensioners was falling apart.
The plastic body of the tensioner had worked loose and actually burnt a hole in the belt cover.:Eeek:
The mechanic said i was very lucky.
Service nearly finished, brakes and waxoyl tomorrow, mot on thursday morning.:thumb:
Should get her home on friday.
Enclosed pics of tensioner and cover.

I am very pleased that you had the cambelt replaced, it saved you a lot of money. At 7 years old and only 12000 miles on the clock it should have been replaced 2 years ago.
On a previous van of mine 2.8 diesel sundance 590RL the casings of the tyres had cracked and all had to be replaced. at the same time had the cambelt and tensioners replaced. Cambelt and tensioners total price £190 inc fitting.

very lucky, but just proves a point.

motorhomes are unlikely to do the mileages, so belts should be changed every 4 to 5 years or as recommended by the makers.

Took the van for an mot today and it passed ok.:thumb:
However the tester suggested some points to sort out.
Both back tyres should be changed as some cracks have appeared, front seem ok.
Also some binding on the back brakes other than that the van is in good shape.
Had a close look underneath the van on the ramp and some corrosion is visible so just ordered some ACF 50 to spray everywhere.
I use this stuff on the bike and it works wonders.:thumb:
Waxoyl will be done in the summer when it's dry.

Anyway van will have to wait for a weeks as i'm back to work in Norway on monday. hopefully take her for a night out when i get home.

    Oh yes.
As i was driving back from the mot station, the speedo stopped working:Angry:
Did some googling and seems to be a common fault that the speed sensor packs up on this model.
Managed to find one on flea bay for £ 65,i think Peugeot want £ 90 odd for one.

Back home now for a few weeks :thumb: so it's time to get to more acquainted with my baby.
This morning i changed both the rear brake cylinders, old ones were nackered.
Quick job really, didn't have to take the shoes off just slide out the cylinder, quick bleed and bobs your uncle.
Afternoon got 2 new rear tyres fitted to the rear, went with continental commercial.
Got her home this evening and decided on cleaning the interior.
First job was to clean out the cassette, once i figured out how to get the blooming thing out ,oh yes last owner had left it half full so wasn't a pleasant job at all ,i won't go in to details, ych a fi.:shout:
Anyway that's the first one done, should be a doddle from now on,at least it will be my no 2 from now.

After some more cleaning i came across some damp in the back of the van just inside small lockers above the cooker, not a happy bunny.
Couldn't see anything obvious so climbed on the top and inspected the roof windows, the sealing doesn't look good at all.
Will have to get these re-sealed asap and hopefully this will help.
If not at least i've eliminated one possibilty.

Anyone else found damp in this area?
If you have other suggestions,i would appreciate any input.

    Thanks
    Crwydryn.

Now you probably know this but are you aware that on Motorhomes that Camping Tyres should be fitted because of the extra pressure, normal van tyres won't always do something to do with insurance.
