Skype suddenly refusing to work (1 Viewer)

Anyone else having a problem, if so what is the answer. I deleted it and reinstalled, no change. Switched off AVG temp and tried again in case it was blocking it, no change.
Ideas please.

Credit if you're trying to call a number?
Does it actually call a number, but drop out before you here it ring?

I had that about 3 years ago. never got it sorted. Deleted & reinstalled numerous times & different versions.some sort of conflict with something. Fortunately the computer blew up.

I don't keep credit on Skype just use it for massaging friends who also have Skype, or at least did until recently. Maybe it will sort itself when win 10 arrives who knows.
I don't think AVG keeps a block list or malware bytes, I tried disabling AVG but it made no difference , did a virus scan on AVG and also run a scan on malware bytes, nothing shows up so am mystified for now.
Drops out and closes as soon as I try to type a message.
