With all the talk of satellite changes we expected to struggle to get television this year but so far so good. We are now almost all the way through the Dordogne and almost in to Aquitane and have encountered no problems as of yet.

We have an 80/85 cm Mobilsat dish and sky box and as the picture shows a really good signal and all of the channels we subscribe to.

Just for the heck of it I switched to freesat and re-tuned the tele., the result being 735 channels on Astra 2 (not many worth watching admittedly).

We are heading down Spain and Portugalso will keep you posted as to our subsequent successes or failures

Good up north too! We were on the edge of the footprint in the Faroes and used to get about 40 - 50% on the strength and quality bands on a 120cm dish if we were lucky, last month we got as good as we're getting in the UK, and that's through the fog.

The new satellite has not been launched yet as it was delayed by the rocket crash in kazakstan , hopefully that will mean we can keep watching this winter
