There's a municipal campsite right in St Malo, walking distance of the old walled town - Broken Link Removed

However, be sure to check when it's open, we drove through the town one June to find it closed until July.

So we ended up driving out again to this aire, walking distance of a village with shops, bars etc, a sandy beach and on a bus route directly into St Malo (bus stop is right next to the aire) Broken Link Removed

View from the top near campsite ..

We used the one up on the top by the Castle. It's a nice site with some nice walks. Walk down the cliff to the harbour. Not as steep as it sounds managed to cycle back up. Horseshoe beach is NOT Dog friendly. Signs are on the Life Guard Station on the OTHER SIDE of the beach. He walked over all the way round to tell us we should not be there. We really enjoyed our stay. Castle at the top has some WW2 bits and pieces. Lots of walks for your dog. Plenty of places to eat and a Pizza Van turns up at the site some nights.

The approach roads are a bit tight and you do wonder if you are doing the right thing but caravans make it so it's not a problem. After leaving the site we finished up going through a very narrow arch. You can get through just breath in.

We and @Khizzie stayed on the municipal site too, a pleasant walk into town, not too far 20-30 minutes.

Cheap, it was not. We paid, last September, €28 each regardless of number of occupants. Shower area was good and views were brilliant.
