I cant tell you about campsites but we happened to roll into Annecy on Bastile day 14th July last summer (2009) and it was packed with people and motorhomes. The vans were just parked anywhere and everywhere. There are a couple of aires but they were very busy. We parked outside a college that was shut for the holiday and a short walk to the lake.

Up in the hills there are plenty of wild spots as well. We found one or two good spots up there.

ITs a lovely place but dont go on the 14th July unless you like crowds! If we can find a good spot on the 14th of July then there should be plenty of places to park other times!

Right in the middle of Chamonix, across the road from the hospital is a great little campsite. Very easy walk along the river into town.

Don't miss going up the Aigule du Midi.

Hi we stayed at la ravoire in july 2009 we didnt book it just turned up and stayed for 7 nights its right on cycle route and about a mile from small town at other end from annecy. There is an aire in annecy we used it to park for the day when we went for a day out. There are loads of campsites in the area.

Camping Les Barrets (think we spelt it right!), opposite the hospital in Chamonix, big thumbs up from us too! We loved it.

Les Rives du Lac

The Aires near the town was packed

I have stopped a few times at Camping Du Sierroz which is in Aix-les-Bains, good site, nice location and only about 30 mins from Anncey.

The location is on the corner of Boulevard Robert Barrier and Promenade Du Sierroz. 45 deg 42' 4" North 5 deg 53' 8" East.:thumb:

Hi
We camped in Annecy this year, tried the aires no chance full up, If you go along the main road keeping the lake on your right you will come to a roundabout just after a car dealers, take left at the roundabout, there is a MH service point on the left but no parking, just past it there are two camps the first one is the better one not to large and a new toilet/shower block, you pay at the house across the road, sorry I can,t remember its name but walking distance and very handy for the lake and town of Annecy. Hi, My wife, daughter, son in law and myself spent a week at Le grand Bornand (amazing) them moved to Camping Europa at Annecy. This was a family site and quite busy but everything was here you would want on site and a few minutes walk from the lake.

Have a look at Le Grand Bornand Link Removed

Have a blast!
