Hi folks...apologies, brand new to this site and still trying to navigate around it. Here's hoping I am managing my first post to a forum!
Can anyone offer info on sites about 3-4 hours drive south of Bilbao, open end of Dec 08. We are trying to suggest a site to friends (they won't free camp yet!) who are driving down through France and will stop at La Rouletta/St Jean de Luz. We are crossing on the P&O ferry and need a rendezvous convenient to them and us...the 2009 ACSI book doesn't show much in that area. There seems to be one towards Madrid but think we want to be further west than that as we head towards some sunshine...perhaps Valadolid or Burgos area. Cheers and Happy Christmas to all...

Welcome to the FUN

There is a site at Gargantilla del Lozoya north of Madrid and we drove from there to St Jean in the RV so should be doable in the time you mention - can't comment on the facilities as we were didn't use them but nice welcome.

There are sites at Aranda de Duero as well or somewhat further at Hotel Regio, Salamanca.

All listed in the Caravan Club Europe Book 1 (unfortunately don't have it to hand to give more info).

The weather can be unpredictable around Burgos - brilliant sunshine to deep snow - we got stranded there once in the RV.

Hopefully someone will be along to help with more info.
