Now the weather is getting colder I have started using my silver screens the problem I have is when it rains they leak.
they hook over the driver and passenger doors on the outside leaking on the corners I think water is tracking around the elastic which is ment to trap between the rubber door seal hope this makes sense.
Any ideas on how to fix from fellow funsters

We have silver screens and fiat cab. They don't leak. Do you mean into the hab. Or just water down the glass outside ?

I had the same problem during heavy rain. I think the water somehow channelled along the screens and poured through the passenger door.

If that's the case , your doors can't be shutting properly. Surely ?
If waters leaking inside.
On ours there's a large silver corner , on the corner of the screen. This slips over the top corner of the door. Then you just shut the door .
There's no elastic.
Are they the proper silver screens from Cleckheaton ?
Ours have never leaked.

Do people advise using silver screens over winter months ? Our MH will mostly be on the drive from end of Nov to April, bar a run every couple of weeks to turn the wheels.

What are the advantages of putting the silver screens on ?

Oh, it's not the same as ours. Yours is a polar? If it's the same as on their website.
I don't know if that one fits the doors the same as ours.
Hope you get it sorted. Maybe give the door a good slam then get a hose pipe on it.
I'd be taking it back if it still happened. Say it's not fit for purpose. Raining in. Then get one of these.

Techno 100 the elastic piece is only about 5mm wide I think it's to stop the plastic ripping when hooking over door corner

Ours are Taylor Made ones, purchased several years ago and no leaking in problems. As with others, they have no elastic but, rather, have a large silver corner (in two pieces which Velcro together) on the corner of the screen. That also slips over the top corner of the door before the door is shut.

As others have said, I should be taking them back if it were me.

We don't bother using them when the van is parked up on the drive, only when we are away in the cold weather, to stop condensation.

Hi, we have silver screens and ours leaked, when we contact them it was because our motorhome has remis blinds fitted, so we needed to put a cut in the bit that hooks over door and made it bigger using Velcro. (n)
Problem solved. Bob.

Can't remember ;)
Hi A few yrs back I found out by accident that if you don't put the flap bit so that the screen bit is on the outside below the door top it allowed the screens to let heavy rain into the top of the cab windows -hope you understand what I mean :)once fitted as described above they stopped dripping ;)

I've heard of this happening and we had a minor leak on ours recently on a night of heavy rain.

I think the trick is to ensure the bit hooked over the door sits flat and has no creases in it. Also, it should not be under too much tension. These problems will stop the rubber seal working correctly.
