We've got Silverscreens on our A class. It was my first question on Fun and received slightly more replies in favour of SS so went with them and are very happy with choice.

We prefer Taylormade and have their long length ones, we think they're better quality than Silver Screens and even if they weren't we certainly wouldn't pay an extra £50!

I still have Taylor made that I got for our Sprinter (see classified);) Got Silver screens for the new van, both work well but I think Silver screens pack into smaller bag.

Have had both not a lot of difference in their usage, internal or external in looks etc but the diff is in the brand price so T/M wins every time, for me.
Look how much wine or fb pies you can get for £50 :)

Enquired of Taylormade at Peterborough and he was a bit vague as it was an A class and wanted a visit to measure up. Phoned Silverscreens, told him what we had (Pilote Reference) and he said no problem. Made up and delivered a couple of days later. It fits perfectly

I bought a T/M from the Malvern show and well pleased with it.It's long enough to cover the wiper blades and the gap between the windscreen and the bonnet.(y)

I bought Taylormade because they were longer. Only regret is the bag - fraying seams stick on to the velcro, so I now use it inside out...

Does anyone know what the "net option" means on the Taylormade website?

I believe it's a privacy net - so that when you fold down the front section there is net behind it which still allows light in but preserves your privacy.

I've only had Silver Screens so can't compare with TM

another company to consider is VanComfort

KANTOP External Thermal Cab Insulation Screens, Manufactured in Germany

no idea if they are better or not.. at £145.. how does that compare with SS and TM ?

Thank you to every one that contribute to this thread so far.
SS cost £169 + £30 for the privacy mesh panel, TM £130 + £20.

The Kantop one's you've mentioned are not insulated like TM or SS ones, to get the Kantop insulated ones you need to pay £249!

They do, however, do Polar screens, £145 for the standard length, £175 for the 'bib' length:

We have external SS, easy to fit, remove and pack away. No condensation on the inside of motor home windscreen when in use. I've no experience of any other.

Just one thing I've thought of ... if you have fitted cab blinds on the doors you'll need to get ones with the larger piece of material on the inside that you 'hook' over the door - however, if you can only get standard fit ones second hand for a good price it's simply a matter of making a piece to bridge the gap between the 2 pieces on the inside, not difficult at all.

Bit of a thread revival here...but can someone tell me how small the TM screens for the Boxer cab pack down to?
