I've just bought a silicone plate from the 99p shop. Orange floppy thing! Now I want to know how to use it.

I'm sure when I was looking through double skillet chat someone mentioned these as being a useful item. Can they sit on the bottom skillet over the heat?

I've seen a sheet of something like that on the BBQ at The White House Farm meet. Put over the gas BBQ flat metal surface so you need only wipe the BBQ when cold.

Brilliant idea.

As far as I know they are just used as heat protectors to protect work surfaces. They can also be used to safely handle cast iron skillets when cooking:thumb:
