going fishing this weekend so decided to check van ........water pump not working stripped it down released and oiled siezed bearing on motor now running ok::bigsmile: just a little noisey so will give me breathing space to find cheap replacment what does the screw sticking out of the pump end do please and is the adjustment critical?

i believe the screw adjusts the pressure switch cutoff point and has a small amount of adjustment.....but not a lot.

basicaly, if the pump continues running with the taps off you can adjust the pressure until the pump stops.

sounds like the pump spindle/plunger seal has started to fail allowing a little water into the bearing.
depend on the orientation.....it should be mounted with the motor higher than the pump valves to prevent this happening.

The screw is for adjusting the pressure that the pump cuts off.

screwing clockwise increases, anticlockwise reduces , not critical .. but if pump is cutting in and out when not in use, reducing pressure usually cures it.

Mine runs with the taps off.
Now I know what to do about it.
As soon as I can get in there I'll sort it. (Cant get in yet, busted ankle / toes still not fixed after 6 weeks.)
