Just had my shower tray repaired with speedcoat repair system By Steve at Caratec 07528339548 based in sheffield.He covers the yorkshire area and will come to your house.There are 12 colours to choose from.
It took him 6hours to do the job, looks great will recommend him
He also does other repairs lpg,damptesting,servicing

Why di it crack in the first place ?Did they reinforce the base ? before repair

a 3inch hairline crack around one of the plug holes and 2 cracks around the raised area each side of the toilet.I had it done now before it gets any worse.

Steve said it properly cracked due to the chassis movement.The shower tray is on quiet a firm base but raised section as a void underneath it.

Interested in this thread ! :thumb: I have a couple of cracks in my shower tray, sent an e mail to find out nearest supplier ! Just down the road in Ludlow ! As I am passing through there tomorrow on my way to Brecon, Hay on Wye, Hereford and ( Any one else in the area ? ) , I have arranged to call in to have a chat and a look see !!

I have a couple of cracks in my shower tray, sent an e mail to find out nearest supplier !

Take great care, just applying 1.5mm of coating over something essentially failing does not sound like a repair to me, more like papering over the cracks.

Get the tray out and see why it's cracking. Fix that.

Then if you want to apply a pretty layer you have a chance it will last.

Personally I'd be thinking in terms of take it out, turn it over, rough it up and apply a shedload of fibreglass+resin. If there's enough space. Then bed it down so it's supported. Proper job.

I have just stomped on the plug hole in the shower and it has gone through the base so anybody know a repairer near Southampton? The shower cubicle is a complete unit and does not have a tray. I hope it can be repaired with a new, wider diameter drain plug.

Major job to take all shower base out it is in one unit with a swing wall shower.All sides of shower to take off and thetford to take out.
