Was talking to @NickNic on Sunday about rallies and he umed and arr'd (well he is from Devon) and we couldn't decide if it was for us or not.

    So Funsters convince us......

Don't be so indifferent get your bums into gear and go to one!(y):D

Seriously though, never thought it was for me, now, keep going to as many as I can, met some great people, nice, quiet, loud (guilty), genuine, mardarses, funny, serious, not so serious, helpful etc, etc the problem for me is finding the time to stay at home now and again to get some other stuff done.

The bigger rallies tend to be full on and can get a bit noisy if you pitch near the Marquee, but you can always park further away, some of the smaller rallies give you more opportunity to get to know others a bit more easily. I parked next to the Marquee at Malvern and wasn't disturbed at all by the noise, probably because I was always in there and often helping in making it!!

There is a rally to suit everyone's tastes, if you like peace quiet and temporary isolation, try the non rally, rally at Shell Island, in September, if you like music, laughter and merriment try Lincoln in September and if you like to be parked up behind a neat hedge watching the lawn mowers go by, with the toilets often closed for cleaning and no noise, or anything else after 10pm........ join the Caravan Club:LOL:

Funster rallies are whatever you want them to be.

You can join in the merriment, go to bed early, talk to your neighbours, close the blinds and read a book, stand outside your van with a screwdriver scratching your head and be inundated with offers of help, share a bottle of wine with friends you've just made, learn to play or rekindle your passion for making music, make friends walking the dog....the list is endless!

Everyone's idea of FUN is different but no-one will ever make you do something you don't want to do :)

Personally I can't think of anything worse but I know others love it so you may too.

Don't knock it if you haven't tried it - so........ try it.

We really enjoy the funster meets, be they at shows or in a field or wherever

    Why ?
Well put simply as pos, you can either join in what is going on or give it a miss and no one thinks any different of you.
Sometimes we LOVE to socialise and enjoy all the company.. there are occasions when one or both of us have simply not felt like it at all and maybe just grabbed a bacon roll on Sunday morning and done nowt else..

Cannot speak for everyone of course but I would guess that more than 90% of all funsters are warm, friendly and welcoming ( even to a headache like me LOL !! )

If you do get to a meet, you will soon find out if you want to join in or just chill out on your own .. If you do enjoy it ( as we do usually ) then you have gained a whole new perspective and had a good time ..
If you do not feel comfy and prefer to do your own thing, well as said, no one will think ill of you, you have lost not a lot and still had a weekend away in your pride and joy :)

We broke our rally cherry at Newbury this year, definitely worth it, met lots of people, and finally put faces to the Forum Names.
We didn't get involved as much as we would have liked to, but our little one was very tired. So we will definitely be heading to more. Just need to get the van back now! :D

You need to go to three which are completely different types of rallies before you decide...... some are fun, some are interesting (walking, swimming, etc) and some are downright miserable if you get the wrong people there... can't be perfect all the time can we... :)

Then decide which type you like and come along more often.. look forward to seeing you.

Is it only newbies who have to share their wine with their newly made friends or do they share theirs as well, ;);).
