short wire to deagk with reverse polarity. I know yawn... but we dont know. please ad (1 Viewer)

We are in France at the mo and our light is glowing on our master unit saying that reverse polarity is happening. You kind people mentioned earlier that we could makeup a short wire to alleviate that. We haven't been electrocuted yet and our RCD hasn't tripped. So any help please?

reverse polarity is not a problem unless you have a short circuit. British systems are fused (trip) on the live only. Whilst the French fuse both live and neutral.So either ignore it, reverse the two pin plug or get changeover lead.

good here we are down south at cap d adge.
when we got caught in your situation on our first visit i took the wires in the main plug and swaped themover so polarity correct does a good job untill you can make up a permant lead

as roger said, if you have the french 2 pin plug adaptor simply ask the site staff to turn it through 180 degrees.
if its a standard blue europlug then you need either a reversed lead....pos wire to neg pin, neg wire to pos pin or temporarily swap your usual hookup lead plug though not the best option as you may forget to swap it back later.

if you get a serious fault the hookup post should trip anyway.

The ehu has a trip on it and its not possible to turn 2pin around as it only goes in one way. Unless we can swap wires on that?
Staff here dont understand English.had a lot of trouble asking about a puncture on our bike.LOL. well a valve on a bile try asking them aboutthat Thankfully Frankie helped on that one.
They were so nice.,produced one from their garage for us. From a kaput inner tube. They said ahhh.bless !!!!!!

swap at your van connection i asume you have a nomal blue connecter.
