Has anyone taken out day insurance on a motorhome? I need to arrange so I can test drive a private sale. I've looked at a couple of companies online and the excesses are quite high.

Temp cover note ? your existing provider should be able to provide one.

I'm a new motorhomer so have no existing MH insurance. My car insurance company don't insure motorhomes. It also seems that a lot of the day insure companies that advertise short term cover for cars (and vans) will not insure motorhomes.

If the vehicle is already insured then your own fully comp insurance will cover you to drive any other vehicle on third party cover. If you don't want to take that chance, then hunt round for the cheapest decent comprehensive policy you can find and take it out for a deposit payment, then you have a 14 day cooling off period in which to cancel it. Check if there will be a charge for this, but there shouldn't be, or at least mine doesn't.
