It's ok, mostly tents, 100 acres, pick your own spot, some with sea views, you just pay at the gate then you go where you like, no caravans, only one toilet block so a bit crowed if you are not self contained

Massive site small harbour at one end, sand dunes at the other good sea views from most pitches.
Just pay at reception and drive on park anywere you like but no electric hook ups, not an island really it's a peninsular thats not accessable at very high tide
Pub/club, minimarket and camping store on site, best avoided at bank holidays and school holidays gets very busy, had a reputation for chavvy types a few years ago but on our last vist they turned a group of youths away in front of us at reception.
And they give a discount for OAP'S :thumb:
Give it a try you could be pleasantly suprised, if not plenty of other sites nearby, good c&cc cl on farm at Llandanwg

Dont bother, full of ex truckers and bar keepers, rough as sandpaper, its not level, too many wandering sheep, pooh everywhere and unless you can speak Welsh you are bu&&ered.

No pub or shop within 5 or 6 miles, its often used by go cart drivers and those mini bikes, litter everywhere, you would be better off in Butlins or a Caravan Club site... Dave Snowbird went there a few times, he was mugged and had his Rolex nicked..

    Bad Bad place..

That's a shame - it was on our list of places, don't think we will bother now.

Thanks Shiftzz. Just had a good read on UK campsite reviews. Probably nice but doesn't sound like our sort of place

One reviewer called it Shellsuit Island - maybe not quite true but very funny

First went tenting there in 1966, and loved it. No facilities at all then, except the occasional water tap. Went again in April 2007 with my friend in her camper, prior to buying one myself. I love it there BUT go out of season and go in the week not at weekend, as it's very popular. Biggest campsite in Europe now, over 800 pitches, but so much land, fantastic sand dunes and you can find pitches within 50' of the sea. Spectacular sunsets, wonderful... You can see how crowded it was then!
