Got a new van on order, which is being delivered in September.
So need to sell our Carthago Chic C-line 5.0.

Should I advertise it now, even though a new buyer can't take it until August, or should I wait until the later.

It's a top spec van, less than 2 years old, with loads of extras, and not a 'cheapie', so I don't want to leave it too long to advertise.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Here are a few pics:

If the intention is to use it through the summer I would not advertise yet, an early buyer could pressure you into letting it go earlier, the result, a boring summer.
I would advertise in August when you know that delivery of the new one is on track.

Lovely van.

I would wait until July to advertise it if you want to keep it until August.

We've bought a left hand drive N&B Arto from Germany, so our right hand drive van wasn't suitable for them as a trade in.

As a buyer I'd want it now. If a seller told me I'd have to wait six months I don't think they were winding me up

If I wanted a MH in August I'd be shopping in August :)

Wait until till you're ready to actually sell it my friend (y)

Why on earth do you want to swap it, it's done you sterling service in all the trips you have been on , it isn't even two years old.
Makes you think there must be something up with it(n)

Not in the same league as yourself but found ourselves in a similar situation last year.
Came away from last Feb's show knowing that we wanted to convert to a M/H. We had trips planned throughout the summer with our teardrop T@B but with a M/H on order & capital being locked in with the T@B, I panicked and decided to advertise straight away not thinking it would sell very quickly. How wrong was I, sold within a few days of advertising; I wasn't very popular.......
Time passed slowly until we eventually took delivery in the August!

Cut a long story short, wait until August and enjoy the trips you have planned. I'm sure with such a nice M/H and priced right it won't hang around for very long; time to start saving............

The list price in July 2015 was £100k
The extras we've added since amount to around £20k, so total £120k

Our selling price is £79,995
You are never going to sell that private, no ones got that sort of money lieing about.

When we bought the van in 2015 it was already ordered on the factory, for the dealers showroom, so not my chosen spec.
It's a great van, fully loaded with Savanah part leather upholstery, NB Full Air Suspension, E&P Hydraulic Levellers, 2kw inverter, 480w Solar, 320A of leisure batteries....
In short a great van for anyone who enjoys travelling in comfort and luxury.

But it's not got everything I dream of. So I've finally ordered my dream van.
Simples!

You'll be surprised, if someone is considering this type of M/H purchase they'll have the readies; much better spent than the pittance earned in interest.(y)

I am certain I posted this earlier....

I buy and sell motorhomes and caravans as a sideline (well I did till recently). My advice is that prestige motorhomes over £50k are notoriously hard to sell privately. The small pool of people with ready cash to buy want it now. plenty of hopeful dreamers hoping to find a massive loan. far too many variables involved for an easy sale

statistically the best time to sell is March & April just after the NEC on the run up to Easter. Later in the season you are looking for somebody looking for luxury to take south. you may be best advised to sell through a dealer
