Howdy
I'm buying a 1993 Rockwood Regent in need of a full refit, I went to the place it's being stored at to arrange bringing it home and discovered all the windows down one side are smashed (gutted) including one half of the front screen, the side windows are flat so easily replaced but the screen is curved, anyone know where I can get one real cheap as i'm skint, the MH will be getting scrapped if I can't find a screen which is a shame, I can't see them being made just for that MH, they must fit others too but how do I find out which ones
Please help
Phil

hi phil and welcome.

no expert but i doubt you'll get one cheap, never mind REAL cheap, no matter where you go....if you can get one at all. :Eeek:

i do know the screens for newer A class can be £thousands which is why SOME insurers wont cover screens.

can you not pull out of the sale on the grounds of the damage ?

Hi
That's what I thought too but I thought I might as well ask, you never know eh.
I can get my money back no problem but the seller is going to scrap the MH, if I could find a screen at a reasonable price I can make the seller an offer. The other thing that worries me is that I can't find another Rockwood Regent like this one anywhere online, I've found simular but not the same and the screen looks different on the ones I have found so even if I found a screen would it fit?

started when I was 11 with my parents-forgot to stop!been real one since 1980!
Bit of a long shot-it may be a massive piece of work, can you find a scrap coach which is 'near enough' and use the screen with some 'building up' of the frame?

Hi,many US coachbuilders used the same screens and front caps.
Most if not all are still available,a friend just got one for a 23 year old airstream so you should get one for your Rockwood.
Even if you have to try searching the internet in the States, you should get one, problem is of course price, dont be put off buying it just for a windscreen, but then again it depends how much else neads work.
Unfortunatly American RVs are not cheap to run or repair...I know.

How badly broken is it??

Can you remove it and use it as a template for a new screen or is it damaged beyond use??

We have used these guys in the past for curved glass in shop front, it might be worth giving them a ring and seeing if they can help

its NOT cheap though so prepare yourself!!

Cheapest I've found so far is £1,300 + vat + shipping + fitting each, then there are 6 side windows, all flat glass so they're not too bad. Don't think i'll be buying it now thanks to the scum who smashed the windows while their parents sat not 100yards away while they did it (
