Hi- We are looking to book our Ski Holidays for 2012 as the ferry fares with the Caravan Club are now available to book for next year.
Does anyone know the dates of the February Holidays in France,we would like to avoid these if possible.

Schools in France have a set of holidays that begin from February 11th and last for a month. However, children only get 15 days off. The system in France is such that the country is divided into three zones with each zone having an overlapping 15 day holiday.

Hi Vera, unlike some we are stuck with the School holidays as we have children
We tend to go in February during the school holidays and have to say that in general having the motorhome means we can choose our resorts so much better and are not stuck with the busy ones.

The best skiing is to be had on a Saturday when all the poor package people have to go home or arrive.... In a 10 day break the only day we ever struggle with is a Sunday when every man boy and snow boarder is out. Other than that, no problems.

What resorts have you been too? do you stay/intend on aires?

Ski sites

Hi Haganap- We use both sites and Aires last year we had 3 weeks in France from 14th Jan, never had a snowflake all the time we were there but still managed some good ski-ing.
We spent a few days in Alp-Duez that is a brilliant Aire once you have faced the hill climb.
We try to avoid theschool holidays so that we can use our Camping Cheques and ACSI card
