Hi

This works like "split your ticket" does on the trains in the UK

Instead of buying a toll ticket from Calais to Reims, what the webiste advises you to do is "split the toll" by leaving at a certain junction en route and rejoining the motorway.

Savings appear between 10 and 20 percent based on my routes I have checked.

I think the calculator only works on the same motorway - so for example, you would have to do a Calais to Reims first, then a Reims to Strasbourg to calculate the toll for Calais to Strasbourg.

I'm toll free all the way but someone might like this.

Good tip.. would never have though it was cheaper to get off then back on..

just checked the trip you suggested

Calais to Strasbourg.

Calais to Reims first, then a Reims to Strasbourg

Toll is for a family car.

Direct, one off payment of £50.20

Two stages, £18.57 + £22.25 = £40.82

so a saving of almost £10 .. 20%

Greetings,

HOWEVER<

Do your homework?

I've just costed the part of the run to the South of France.

Macon to Orange. Class 2 Toll €33.20
Split ticket Macon to Valence €22.20: Valence to Orange €11.60 Total €33.80

Perhaps Rapides suggestion only works on certain Autoroutes.

We usually get 100% off tolls as we tend not to use toll roads.
