Satellite reception, PC, and DiSEqC (1 Viewer)

hi clever people, can anyone look at the notes below and see my thinking? I have been studying in google for a few mins.....


PC already in van, for music and terrstial tv (UHF), and the net when plugged in at home....

Steerable Dish on roof, using a motorised dish mover (DiSEqC 1.2)

SKY+ box and disabled DiSEqC, bin this ?

A better Pci card, decent software, and then dish receiving.... but how to control dish movement with PC.. ie. DiSEqC 1.2 ?

The motorised systems that use the protocol DiSEqC 1.2, are for fixed installations...

The elevation is set and left alone, as is due South, the dish then scans in an Arc and fixes the postion of all satllites visible.

great in a house, not worth doing in a motorhome, easier to put a dish on a tripod for the rare time when I really would want tv whilst away
