Table variety - what do you store yours in.
I don't use much, so just had one of those little picnic (though pucker glass) cruet sets. Needless to say, when I did want some, it was rock solid thanks to moisture absorption...

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
We use sea salt. (y) It goes solid just the same as table salt, but when you hold the cruet to your ear, you can really hear the ocean! :)

We just save the bits left at the bottom of crisp packets. Every boiled egg means you get to eat another bag of crisps.

We use the coarse stuff in a grinder. Can't remember if it has ever gone solid, I don't think it has.

I have a salt grinder but also a little set from Sistema that are good and the salt stays dry for ages, in fact I left it in the van in December and it was still dry when we got the van out again in March.

Be a Itinerant and borrow some of those salt and pepper sachets from Costas. They charge enough for a coffee, so I'm happy to let them donate to meet my needs :)

Not much call in the woods, but us bears do need a staple diet :)

I have never added salt to anything , never have done.
The days of pouring salt over food before tasting it are just a memory from growing up.
Sachets of salt would be easier to store .

We have the little sachets you get in McDonald's and the like
Edit
Other fast food chains are available lol

Morrisons supermarkets cafe. Go for breakfast, collect sachets of;

Brown Sauce
Red Sauce
Vinegar
Sugar
Salt
Pepper
and more besides, I think.

Maybe it is stealing but it is an easy way to store just what you need, in the amounts you may need, easier to stow, keeps fresh and cuts down on weight.
