Not sure if this is the right place to post this but wanted to let you know that on the 17th February my lovely Rick, aged 57 passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Our last meet was at Stratford and although in pain he was determined to attend and have a good time.
Through this long battle Rick remained an avid fan and never gave up reading this forum and sending in posts if he thought he could be of help.
Just wanted to say that we have enjoyed meeting up with many of you and I know my Rick would wish you all well on your adventures.
Have now sold our Hymer to a great couple and I really hope they have adventures like we did and to all out there thinking of taking off....do it follow the road, chase your dreams, life is far too short.
Love to you all Lynn [ Manouche]

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost a partner ten years ago and I hear your heartfelt remark that life is too short. In time you will live yours again with renewed vigour but right now it's time to rest and look after yourself. Take care. Mags

Sorry to hear of your loss. His pain in over, and that is the only way you can look at it.

We are very sad to hear that Rick has died. We saw you and Rick at Stratford and Rick was really positive about his treatment, seems he may well have been sparing our feelings. I know you said that you were being really supported by your friends on the allotments and am sure that they will continue to give you comfort and strength into the future as well. You have our deepest condolences at the loss of Rick, may he rest in peace. Jane and Bob

So sorry to hear of your loss, but please stay on the forum as you have many friends here.I hope this will give you some comfort....

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I,and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play,smile,think of me,pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was,let it be spoken without effect, without the shadow of a ghost in it.
Life means all that it every meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,but for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.....All is well.

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
