RV gas BBQ point? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

My RV has a gas bbq point and I need to know what connector I need.

Attached are some piccies.

In addition I can tell you that the point is connected after the domestic gas tank regulator and is therefore low pressure.

It appears to have three sprung ball bearing retaining balls and no thread.

Does anyone know what connector I need to put on the end of my cadac gas hose?

And where to get one?

The collar on mine does pull back when the gas tap is on so looks like a quick release system.

Another thing, when I open the lever I don't smell gas. Is that because to release gas the lever needs turning AND a connector needs to be in place?

Hi Bryan have just had a look in the RV 2008 catalogue given to me by Steve at Mobile RV Maintenance. There are some hoses that appear to have the male connector end that might fit your socket. I cannot see these close enough to be certain but you could give him a ring or try one of the other RV parts suppliers in the UK who I reckon would know what you need

Yes, the coupling shuts off when you disconnect the male fitting.

If you cannot find the correct male connector it may be easier to find a new complete coupling ..

I have a spare male connector, i will bring it to Peterbro, but this was fitted in uk so may not fit but will bring it to try, these coupling work exactly the same as quick release airline couplings that you get on compressors etc.

These quick release fittings are notorious for leaking, we use them all the time in the garage (different size) and only for air, but leak they all do after a very short time from new

Quick release couplings for compressed air shouldn't be used for LPG. only use ones that are sold for LPG duty.

I would also replace the female, buy as a pair, then there is no change of the seal leaking or a mismatch.

I can tell you the following.

The manufacturer is Couple - Safe, The model is 250 and they are made for Natural Gas.

How Do I know, It says so on my connector.

other info is 1/2 PSI Max 14000 BTU/HR

It also states "Use 250 series plug only

LP 20 PSI
