I purchased a motor home recently its a Hymer 564 left hand drive L reg Fiat 2445 cc diesel and was about to embark on a holiday this week end so I took it into my local garage who has looked after the vehicle for some years for the previous owner
I asked him to check it over and as there was no record of a cam belt change to do that if it was necessary which he started to do and found that that a casting which holds the tension pulley for the timeing belt is rusted and broken. He has tried Fiat and they have no stock and it looks as if my holiday is ruined. Can anyone help and tell me where I am likely to scource this part

Cant help with the parts, but have you thought about selling on your holiday or hiring a motorhome so you can still go?

Google Fiat part finder......and there are pages full. Take your pick and email any.

Another obvious source are breakers yards specialising in Fiat.

Not wishing to rub salt in your wounds, but had this been a Transit you'd have had no problem at all. I have an L reg Transit and parts are not only easily obtainable via breakers yards, but also brand new from Ford dealers.

A poster on here had a problem obtaining a replacement fuel cap for his Fiat based motorhome.....just five years old.

Hi Neil,
just a thought have you thought of taking the parts to a specialist welder. They can work wonders with a TIG welder. Used them all the time when nothing else was available, and it will get you off on holiday. Rgd's G.
