would any one be interested at having a rally meet at Rufforth air field York

i used to go to a caravan rally there 20 years ago

if there is enough interest i will consider putting a rally together
so ask your mates and pass it on the sooner i get a response the sooner i can
start to sort some thing out

From the York ring road (A1237) turn left towards the villiage of Rufforth along the B1224.

it can be a week end meet
a week long meet 5/7 days if in summer July - August
i need to know from you what suits each of you most

    yours Ian

It would be a quick hop, skip and a jump for me... I be able to pop home for the things I'd forgotton!

And pop down the road for the top car boot sale on the Sunday morning!

    Count me in.

Would rather have a meet at the RAF Waddington Air Show - lots of campsites there, 6/7 July, and the Vulcan is going!

your welcome to organise one there

I have noticed there are very few meets in the north area
so i am trying to see if there are enough people interested in meting up around the north

may be there is little interest and so not many meeting organized
if i do not ask i will never find out

Longridge seams to have a good response
I am trying to find locations that have good ground and easy access(due to last years wet wash out )

any one wanting to see the air show at Waddington could stay about 6 miles west at

In my experience, it is far better to stick a meet on and they will come.

get your dates sorted, post them up and await the bookings.

It's hard for anyone to commit when they don't know when it is.

If you like, we are interested, but then we might not be when the dates go up because we could be doing something else?

Lots of people will not post, they are watchers that love a good meet and love people like you for organising it. When they see it, they will come, if they don't and there's 5 of you, you can have as much fun if there's 60 units.

So go for it, get the dates together and see what happens :thumb:

    good luck.

    thank you for your input
i am a little bit unsure to book a venue and put money in to it to find no interest or so little interest that it runs a loss
i do hope to organise places to meet up with good access and hard standing
not many places will not want a deposit to secure the site
I am sure you can understand my predicament
if enough people say it is of interest, then i agree with you to post it and see who shows a firm commitment (as i have done with Longridge meet)

so if your a WATCHER please feel free to PM me with a simple yes i would be interested your not committed in any way

however if I do not get enough response to justify my putting a booking fee in place then there will not be any meetings to attend

I do this for the benefit of you the members so please understand I have not organized any meeting so I need your input to decide if there is a good chance of it NOT costing ME any loss of MONEY

so come folks i am not asking too much of you am I ???

Yes, we live in the Rhubarb Triangle too so it wouldn't be too far for us. We could do almost anytime in July, but weekends in August.

It might be worth mentioning that a bus goes from close by into York and that's a lovely place to visit.

Good idea but please be aware that there is an autojumble one saturday in the month. I think it takes place on the old airfield.

I know that the MCC and C&CC have parked at the Rugby Club next door and there is a club room there.

We'd like to come along, York is great for us. As for most others its just a case of when, we are available for most dates in July & August :thumb:

Yes thats where i thought this was going to be held. We have been on rallies with them , and another club we are members with.
Its also a CL Ivy so you can go by yourself . A lady comes for your money now, you used to have to drop it off at the local P.O.
