Roads to Annecy/Chambrey (1 Viewer)

I am planning to visit the Annecy region in the next 3 weeks but SWMBO does not like the thought of roads through the mountains/hills because of large drops etc. I wanted to keep off the toll roads and wondered if anyone can give me an idea of drive from Macon to Annecy to try and ease her mind.

Otherwise I may be forced onto the the toll

Only ever been down to Annecy in the car but the route on the motorway is fairly impressive.

used to do it regular in an artic truck was ok for that so ok for a camper id say

Last autumn went through Pontarlier, Saint Claude, Annecy and then the Napoleon Route to Gap. The views and beauty outweigh the steep drops.

Knowing you die of starvation before you hit the bottom is no consolation I spose!
