Does all our fuel come from Libya?

Why with the unrest in the middle east does it need to go up?

or is this just another excuse for bigger profits to everyone in the industry?

    1. No , Libya only supplies about 2% of oil used by Europe

U.K.’s Duncan Says Oil Prices Could Surge to $250, Times Reports
    By Sarah Shannon - Mar 5, 2011 8:23 AM GMT+0000

Oil prices could surge to as much as $250 a barrel if terrorists attack oil tankers and reserves in Libya and the Middle East, Britain’s International Development Minister Alan Duncan, a former oil trader, told the Times.

Such a gain in the oil price would cause a “serious spike” in [HI]fuel prices to about 2 pounds ($3.25) per liter,[/HI] Duncan said in an interview in the London-based Times newspaper.

I don't know but at this rate it will be cheaper to holiday in 5* hotels than MHs.

Yes as long as you can walk to the hotel and not have to fly or drive.

I think it has been for some years Brian.
    When you take into account...
    Initial purchase cost.
    Depreciation.
    Insurance.
    Road fund.
    MOT.
    Maintenance.
    Fuel.
Campsite fees,of which Benidorm is now charging £400 per month to park your own van:Doh:
    Then ferry costs.
Motorhoming is no longer a poor mans holiday,I could live my life out in a hotel in Thailand for what it costs to run my motorhomes.

I read somewhere that Libya produces only 2% of the worlds oil but this amounts to 50% of the surplus over and above actual usage. The worry is things may spread and/or terrorists take out some other production or transportation services. All this is why the price is going up.

It appears that any unrest anywhere in the world shoves fuel prices up. When the unrest is settled, the price stays high. Methinks a con.
Has anyone seen the vast tankers sitting off Gibraltar waiting for the price of fuel to rise?
