Rhone-Alps?

    So we leave on Saturday and from feedback on this forum we have ditched the idea of Spain in 14 days. We're mainly driven by chasing the sun and are now looking for itinerary ideas . The weather in the Rhone Alps looks good....has anyone been to this area and could give us advice on roads, places to visit etc

    I don't think I can help specifically about the Rhône-Alpes but we shuffled across the south of France from east to west earlier this year, staying well away from the coast.

    The France part starts at post #256 on the link below, you might get a few ideas on possible places from it. What I learned from this trip was providing you stayed away from the most touristy bits there was much to see just about anywhere - just pick a point on the map and go there! But having a guide book helps a lot - we use the DK Eyewitness books as a starting point.
