Had a double din media unit fitted at a show some time ago, changing van so refitting original single din unit.

Cannot get the reversing camera to work all else was very straightforward once I'd sorted the modified cable ends.

I have a spare red wire fitted with a male spade connector which according to the wiring connector diagram on the radio label connects "To Reverse Gear Control Switch" but I cannot find anything to connect it to with a female spade connector?

Can anyone offer any advice!

the red spade you speak about needs to connect to the reversing light switch.

if it worked on the old head unit there should be a connector somewhere.
and it will either become live or will earth out when reverse is selected.

did the double din unit have a reverse selector connection ????

Took most of the afternoon and a little dismantling but its now sorted :thumb::thumb::thumb:

In the process I've now discovered how to should I ever require it:-
1 Have camera on permanently
2 Overide and play dvd, or tv when engine running.
3 Get rid of the warning notice stating "you can only listen while driving"

So pleased as punch with myself ::bigsmile:::bigsmile:::bigsmile:, radio /dvd /tv working correctly as AT designed.

Tomorrows job is to fabricate something to secure radio unit and support and secure the storage unit above it. (Original supports etc were moulded into plastic housing and had to be cut away to accommodate a double din unit):Eeek:
