Good afternoon everyone. Having just returned from winter in Spain I have removed the adhesive tape from the headlamp protectors and of course the base of the tape is firmly still in place. Sometime ago I think there may well have been advice on this really informative site, giving the answer to this 'problem'. Unfortunately I can't find trace of this information.

Perhaps some kind soul help with the answer.

Eddie.

Just cleaned up my headlights a day or so ago.
To get the residue of the sticky tape off I used
" Sticky Stuff Remover " which was purchased
fro Lakeland.

Petrol or white spirit is good, but don't rub too hard as it will dull the plastic.(y)
I'm sure that the purists will disagree....wait for it....:(

Thankyou to everyone for your kind information. Off on a tangent, in my teenage years I was a cinema projectionist and acetone, which we acquired from a local chemist shop, we used to join the film with when making up the programme. Much quicker drying than film cement.
Once again many thanks everyone..
Best wishes to us all for a long hot summer.

I probably wouldn't use acetone on the headlamps bit to aggressive

Panel wipe or stick stuff remover as said previously.

An angle grinder will work in seconds but one slight drawback with this method is that you will have to replace the headlamps. Hope this helps ;)
