One of my gripes about our MH (and apparently many others) is not having a remote temperature sensor was using an Oregan type but after a year the sensor has failed due to water ingress!

Browsing on net there are many for sale but reading some of the rubbish reviews on Amazon I'm a bit put off. :Eeek:

My requirement would be for a neat discrete digital display unit (battery operated) with a wired external weatherproof sensor probe.

Anyone done it and have any recommendations :thumb:

Many thanks

Stewart

I bought one from roadpro. It gives inside and out side temp and a ice alert. Its a digital compass as well. From memory it was £25.

See Ebay item no.: 360368021698 (or see my album on here). We have one of these which was originally on our MB608 for 4 years, went to India, Africa and all points in between, and is still working perfectly on the Dethleffs now. Now £7.95 incl. p&p :thumb:

Bought a couple of Lidl specials a few years ago. Can't remember the price but well under £10. The battery operated unit sat in the van and I routed the outside sensor cable so that it was tucked up at the top of one of the windows. Worked better in winter than in summer when direct sun affected it.

Lidl and Aldi

When I was cycle commuting all year round I wanted/needed to know the temp outside to get the right number of layers out. I bought one wireless unit from Aldi about three years ago and it's still working fine - replaced the batteries in both parts, and never had any problems with either sensor or receiver. Year or so ago bought another, this time from Lidl, to use at work [!]. Same story, still got both of them, one now with the remote installed in van on drive. Cost around £10, highly recommended.

Bought one of these, rapid delivery, no gimmicks, ie alarm, weather etc, fitted and I'm well pleased, reasonably accurate to boot.

I have a Lidl special. Wireless outside sensor. It is also a radio controlled clock. Unfortunately I lost the instructions so it shows continental time only, but at least it's right when I'm in Europe. I think it was about a tenner, but that was at least 3 years ago.

Hi ,i bought this one mainly because it monitors my leisure battery as well..Works well, cheap and very easy to install,i 've got plastic type double glazing so i put the outside sensor on my alluminium aerial pole( which always seems cold) in the wardrobe, and it works a treat.
