Was a newbie, now a Middie.
AND, you can do daft things with impunity, like give next doors St Bernard your Viagra, and laugh like hell as he cops the postman.

Since about year 2000
if you go to the site, doctor on wheels.they will do your test and eye test at the same time.I get them to do my hgv test.it costs about £50.and they will do it at a place near you.mine does it in a small motorhome,at a industrial estate.near me.

If you jump through the hoops over this side of la Manche it is necessary to go to an authorised (agrée) doctor and he is only allowed to charge the listed amount. I paid 33€ last Tuesday. The whole process took about 30 - 35 minutes with an eye test (school nurse reading chart type test) b.p., pulse, lungs and heart sounds, reflexes and squats and jumps (stress tests?). I am now able to apply for the renewal of my 12t + trailer and small psv + trailer licence. The doctor even asked me if I wanted the licence replacement in the new European format and gave me the form to apply.
"All part of the service" I was told.
