We are soon to be travelling from Calais to Wurzburg Germany. Leaving Calais we will travel either slightly north of the French border or south, either way we will probably go through Luxembourg. We will not use toll roads and prefer to avoid motorways. We have time so long jumps are not necessary. Could you recommend really nice aires along our likely routes and near interesting places. Exceptional ACSI sites would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can't help directly as we haven't done that route but using the filter on CamperContact will give you some suggestions. Set it to show only aires graded say 8 or above and this will narrow the field. Then read the reviews plus look at the map and you should get a reasonable idea of what to expect. This works for me, I used this method on our recent trip but there were occasions when we arrived, looked around - and moved on. Always have a Plan B!
