I know the question has probably be raised many times in the past but I am now looking for something to tow behind my MH on a bike trailer. I need to opt for a trailer because I am running very close to the Gross Vehicle Weight limit and the overhang of the scooter rack would take the rear axle way over its legal limit.

I saw recommendations for a couple of machines a while ago but am not able to find the thread.

Looking forward to hearing what has worked well for other Funsters.

Chris

I'm running a Suzuki FL125 Address, not as popular as the Honda Innova - but having own and ridden both bikes IMHO the Address is the better of the two.

Jeff may I ask why you prefer the Suzuki?
I have a 125 Dylan that now resides in Portugal for winter and need another 125 for France.I have bid unsuccessfully for a couple of Suzuki Addresses and recently saw a new 110 for a good price in Poole, decisions, decisions!

Are they less expensive in UK or France?

I have a Honda 125 Innova step through and it does the job very nicely.

Brilliant stepthrough. Less than £100 a year to tax, insure and MOT, £90 for a full service, weighs about 110kg, 145 mpg, will cruise at 50 mph and cheap spares! What's not to like? Plenty of good ones second hand for about £1000: EU emissions mean new ones are not sold in EU any more - shame!

Caravan since 1970, motorhome or RV since 1999 then back to a caravan in 2017.
We have a Honda PCX 125 in a Brenderup, unbraked, 750Kg max box trailer that has a rear door that drops to form a ramp and a front hinged roof that allows me to stand upright when loading the bike. I have fitted it out so that the bike is held in place and travels without moving or being damaged. There is also room for our electric bike (for short journeys) and other assorted bits that, as you say, keep the weight out of the motorhome.

Flamenca, any vehicle secondhand in France is considerably more expensive in France and generally cars are much higher mileage for the age than in UK.
Some hoops to go through registering imports here but a decision to be made before purchase.
New are probably similarly priced so exchange rate is of some issue.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
We have / had ( it's for sale now ) a Honda PCX125, which was great for two up. Makes Mh'ing a bit more fun as you can park well out of town a "scoot" in.

I have a Honda 125 Innova step through and it does the job very nicely.
We also have one.

Prior to that we had Peugeot 100cc scooter. From new, it kept breaking down so I asked a friend who sells and maintains motorcycles for a living "what should I do?"

His response..."Sell it, and buy a Honda!"

That's 10 years ago and the Innova has never missed a beat. Highly recommended, very reliable and reasonably light, essential on a M/H!
