We are thinking of taking dog and having a walking holiday in Wales. Can anyone recommend a motorhome site or two in Snowdonia? I used to be a rock climber / mountaineer back in the day. Is there, an easy way up Snowdon? Ideally we'd like to base ourselves in 2 places and walk a lot. No stiles that won't take big dogs please! (As we found around Hope in Derbyshire!)

Not Snowdonia but we have done quite a lot of walking on the Offa's Dyke path basing ourselves at Pandy. We have used the cc site but more recently a cl field which is very reasonable ( especially without hook up). Lovely walking, great views and nice pub in Pandy Inn.

There's a forestry site in Beddgelert which is pretty good for walking.

I've not been there yet but a friend of mine has tried the new Morris Leisure site at Llanberis.

Morris also have a site at Betws-y-Coed which is good for forest walks.
