We've been invited to a wedding at Edes House in Chichester in early July. As it happens we are thinking of doing "Sarf" this year so may well have been in the general area at that time anyway.

I see that the C&CC has a site nearby (and we are members) but just wondered if anyone has recommendations for any alternatives.

If you are a member of the CC, there is a CL called Fir Trees three miles south of Chichester at Birdham.
The site owners are the parents of Darren Brown, the sales manager of Premier Motorhomes and Leisure, whose premises are a couple of hundred yards away.

The concierge camping site was just a bit too much to pay for us. Weekdays £42 per night and £45 and £50 per night at the weekend we wanted. A definite no for us.

In thought it was a bit high :)

C&CC is looking favourite at the moment because of the public transport links compared to others sites :)

Just opposite the C&CC site.
Used to be CS but now a listed site on the C&CC web site, so no longer restricted to members.

Coastliner bus stop just outside, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coastliner_700

If Slindon C&CC is not too far away then I have stayed there just last year and that was perfect. Quiet, private, not too dear but of course I had my trike to get me into Chi in the evening.

I know Clay Lane well as I used it often as a short cut to work, but I don't recall a cs or cl there.

Orchard Farm in Drift Lane in Chidham is a nice little site. We've been going there for years with a caravan but not been yet with our fairly new MH. All major clubs use it for rallies. Lovely and peaceful site with some electrics, no toilets there but obviously water points and toilet emptying facilities. Very friendly owners Martin and Maxine. Pub and bus stop couple of hundred yards up the lane. We ride our bikes to Bosham where there's a little harbour And Chichester is within easy reach.

I know a lovely aire 5 miles away
We lived in Selsey Bill for 10 years.
Where are you Bracklesham Bay?

My husband's friend John Bates and his sister Sally, used to run the Bracklesham Bay Club.
The holiday makers used to go to watch the BBC trio, expecting a trio from the BBC TV
Turned out it was, 'The Bracklesham Bay Club trio'.:rofl::rofl:

Thanks for all the responses. As we've never stayed on a C&CC main site previously, and the bus stop is just outside, we've decided to give ourselves the luxury of hard standing and EHU :D The fact that there is a pub more or less next door had nothing to do with it

Getting better month by month.
Which ever site you go for, can you look out for an overhanging tree with part of my 550 aerial stuck to it and give me a shout:LOL:
