Recommendation for renting a 6-7 berth motorhome before buying. (1 Viewer)

I'am totally new to Motorhomes and want to rent a motorhomes that has 7 belted seats that is 6-7 berth. Is this possible? I have 2 boys ages 9 and 10 and 3 little girls under 5 so they can share the double bed. I see a lot of 7 berth that has only 6 seat belts and I haven't seen this opposite way round.

I'm also very interested in Japanese Motorhomes and was wondering if anyone here know anything about them. Something along this layout with 3 seats at front, bunk beds and over cabin beds would ideal. Is there something similar in Europe with the same dimensions?



Any tips and suggestions and recommendations of a company to rent from around London would be greatly appreciated.

rent from @Johns_Cross_Motorhomes down in Sussex, but I have never seen a european van with 7 seat belts

You should also check your licence entitlement if not already done so as 6 berths and 3500 kg max means no room for anything else, if not already overweight. Hope that helps

thanks Dave I can drive a 17 seater coach van does that mean I can drive a 7 berth motor home?

If you past your test before January 1st 1997 you automatically have the entitlement to drive a vehicle up to 7500kgs. If not then...

You will need a category c or c1 entitlement for a vehicle over 3500kgs mam

If 16 seater you have a D1 and you will still need a category c or c1 ..

If 17 seater you have a D and will still need a category c or c1

I passed in 1997 so I had to take my c licence (could have done a c1 but it was the same cost!) for a motorhome of 4250kg weight.

I looked at the 6 belted motorhomes but with the family in and only 3500 allowance I was over weight before I started! Lol

I've never seen one with 7 travelling seats either. Trying to work out where they would all fit.

A single and double dinette layout would support seven seat belts. These vans often have rear bunks too.

Hymer Classic 684, Hymer 682cl, Laika 3002 kreos, dethleffs 6881 ( I think ).

Will need to look at vans with double dinettes. Normally a double and single on other side

We have a 7 berth Autoroller but it only has 6 belted seats. I have never seen a 7 belted van. It has a huge over cab bed, bunks across the back, the double dinette makes a double bed and the single dinette converts into a child's bed. The law is a bit strange but the way it seems to be interpreted is that if belts are fitted they must be used but isn't really clear if you carry more passengers. Our van technically could carry 8. Solent motorbikes in Dorset hire Autorollers, would be worth taking a look.

I pass my test before 1997 and my license entitlement is B, BE, C1, C1E, D1, D1E and fklnp whatever that is!
Does the catergories A, B and C motorhomes comply with these?
