Having problems with my eyes because the screen is too bright.... is there a way to darken it please?

My last laptop had a roll-type button to lighten and darken but this one doesn't...

    Many thanks. Joy

If the Ctrl (Control) key does not work try the Fn (function) key at the same time as pressing the Brightness key.
