ratchet windows sticking (1 Viewer)

the ratchet window struts on our Hobby stick - push them full out and it the devil's own job to get them back. WD40 liberally applied helps a little, but eventually we resort to jamming a tiny screw driver down the side to stop them catching in the ratchet system. Does anyone have experience of this? Is there a 'fix' or do we simply replace the struts ( and if we do this, will it happen again?)

They all seem to do it eventually. I haven't found a permanent fix other than replacement..
