our Rapido is lovely, but I have one small problem. It's a 2006 model on a Mercedes Sprinter, how on earth do I fill the windscreen washer bottle? I will post a photograph tomorrow so you can all see the problem. There just doesn't seem to be the space to put concentrate in....yes I can use a hose pipe, but I want the concentrate in too.

I think that's the joy of A Class ownership, as we recently discovered. ;)

The first time our Burstner needed the washer reservoir filling up, I believe Cindy ended up using a short length of hose and a funnel (I was conveniently at work :) )

??? err small funnel and tube help ?

We bought a funnel and plan to attach dome pipe to it....but then it becomes a two man job and the funnel needs to be elevated to allow gravity to work, which means Steve in his wheelchair won't be tall enough.....I'm begining to think I'll have to spoon the concentrate in and then fill with the hose pipe!

Our Hymer has the same challenge - a funnel and short length of hose was the answer. Regards Martin

My Hymer B class on a 2003 Sprinter has a length of rigid black plastic tube about 20 mm in diameter and 30 cm long, clipped to the top of the radiator housing on the left side (looking in). One end of the pipe has a right angle elbow and the other, an oblique angled collar. The elbow goes into the washer reservoir and the oblique end can be filled with a watering can or similar.

Use a watering can with the mix in it - that's what I did when I had the same model :)

Hmm Has Steve got a Helping Hand ??? or even more simple some thick wire and make a tripod with a ring to mount the funnel ?

Getting Better
I put the fluid/water in a smaller bottle, i.e.: a plastic drinking water bottle 500ml does the trick takes a few to top it all the way up from empty but it gets there...

Do you know I have looked at that pipe on mine for 2 years wondering what it was for, thanks @JeanLuc!!

We have one of these....its too big. But we can tip a litre bottle of concentrate directly into the washer bottle and top up with water from the hose pipe. I've been out experimenting today. So problem solved. :D2

We must be very lucky. Our Hymer A class has an extension tube built in which moves the filler point to a convenient place at the front of the engine. Mind you the way have shoehorned the rest of the 3l engine in makes me think that changing or topping up most other things will be a pig.

Finally got round to taking a picture of the pipe that I referred to in earlier posts. Have a look and see if you have one of these. I realise it may be a Hymer addition, but as there was an earlier reference to a Euramobil having one as well, I thought it might be a Merc part.

Yes I was thinking the same, our euramobil was a Mercedes. :D

Have another query... Those of you with Mercedes as base vehicles, what do you do re headlights when abroad? Is there a switch to convert them to continental specs, or do you not bother?
