Anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for the above? I have a good Auto electrician but he needs a diagram. Or anyone any ideas what's wrong?

If it's the omnistep you take the cover off the motor/gearbox underneath and will find a switch that the step mechanism opens when it goes up/in, it's a simple down to ground thing but if it looses the negative ground due to a bit of corrosion it stops buzzing. Or of corse it could be something completely different.

Post what sort of step it is and somebody will put the wiring diagram up as they are all on the web, if nobody has done it by the time I get home I will do it for you when I am not on the phone in Costa.

get the auto electrician to wire an ignition feed to a relay that is wired to the step motor. no need for a buzzer so much then, just start the engine and the step should retract automatically. still a good idea to clean or replace the switch for the buzzer though just in case

Sounds even better than a buzzer! (No pun intended) Will see if he can do that. Rapido seems to wire things up differently from others. Maybe should have mentioned earlier it is 2004 model.
