Many Rapido owners will recognise the STUPID one piece full length drawer front.
I saw this Idea on Campingcarrapido French forum. I just had to do it

Not much Jay I've had it over a year now and still find stuff to change.
I'm fitting the 230volt awning kit this week I hope and just done the DLR's today :thumb:
Lots of arguments against but I don't care what they say
£60 well spent. Those cab blinds are new too, the original were horizontal and sh1t

It's part of the dining table. I got a whole brand new one for £100 so made use of the base part the old one.

I always do stuff to my vans, apart from the self-build I did, the first 'major' jobs I did to a manufacturer produced MH were to our Rapido 709F where I fixed a bike rack on to it (no fixing points incorporated in them then!) ... hubby nearly had kittens when I started to drill (he's a worrier!). Then I 'attacked' the roof vents - I had to completely replace them as I couldn't get just the clear 'glass' to replaced the smoked ones. This was followed by fitting a Status 530 pole mounted aerial that goes through the roof ... I did this whilst hubby was at work as he'd have had palpitations!!!

Since then, we've had Rimor and a Chausson MHs, as well as our current PVC, and I've done adaptations in all of them. As with all things you need to know your limitations though - so long as they are done well and with care, are reversible if necessary with minimal 'signs' of them being there in the first place, or improve things without question, then people should NOT attempt them ... there's nothing worse than a MH with loads of bodges in them!

:thumb::thumb::Cool: My bike rack doesn't use the Rapido fixings as I wanted mine in the centre. I believe through the wall fixings are stronger IMHO The integral ones are reliant on adhesive.

andy I read your posts on another forum , as I am hopefully picking up my rapido sometime in feb , I was going to check the fittings etc for integrity , did you find a lot of dodgy screws in yours
im having a 240v thule awning fitted by the dealer and after ive read your reports ill be going over everything with a fine tooth comb

I don't think I can tar them all with the same brush anymore than other makes. I dare say all manufacturers suffer from an element of poor staff. There were issues on mine that the original owner never noticed and lived with. Over time I have rectified or reinforced many things.
The toilet sink top was not fitted level so the doors beneath didn't fit properly. The toilet door rubbed on the frame and most cupboard doors needed tweaking. I've forgotten much more

Sometimes things are just badly designed so where items attach to walls they don't always put solid wood in where the screws go. The fridge is a bad example of this for one

Bengals we call them. Seems companies think its cheaper to employ them, and then pay tradesmen to put the job right at the end.

I opened your link and have just watched your slide show. All I can say is WOW, I don't think I will achieve your level but you have certainly given me a bench mark to aim for.

My only fear is you will have made your motorhome so good you will run out of things to do to I think Robbie that you will sell him to find another needing your undoubted skills.

Off to study my inadequacies now. Very well done, in every sense.

Rub it in why don't you. . . . . . . That I still haven't plucked up the courage to copy your modification.
As I said when you first posted it . . . You're a braver man than me.
As I've said before the 7090 is, for us a great van but there are a few bits of their design that irritate, as there are in other makes.
Silly things like the sliders on the under bed drawers were too short to be able to make good use of the space. I've also turned the handle on the shower door. Originally it folded flat towards the right so that, if, when travelling the door, if not secured properly and the handle not layed flat, and most folks have made that mistake, then there is a chance that the door will slide open and the force could damage the door. Now it has been turned around it would just be pushed flat and not cause a problem.
Also on the side seat above the gas locker I've cut the lift up lid so that I can gain access without having to lift up both cushions, a small alteration but makes life so much easier.
I think the only other mod, I'd make now is to add a skylight above the cooker.
Anyway, as I said earlier in the year, if you're passing, your're welcome to pop in any time, oh, but don't forget to bring you magic saw with you, I've still got a cupboard door that is aching to be modified.
Keep up the good work mate, I've pinched many of you ideas already
