working full time is often prohibitive to attending long weekend rallies, BUT could manage more if other half could drive mh to meet whilst I drive direct from wherever I am working in the country, thus avoid a lot of time of driving home, and turning around again in mh. Also could potentially work from m/h during day/ afternoon occasionally
Please advise re rally etiquette.

thanks very much - we may well be attending more!
  • Does this also apply to the larger organised shows which are external e.g. southern motorhome, malvern, stratford and if so
  • is a car an additional charge
  • do you have to arrive together?

At the larger shows, plenty have an extra car, its not a problem, and you won't normally be charged extra. On rare occasions; if the rally field is tight, you might have to park your car away from your pitch. No you wouldn't need to arrive together.

I do this all the time - both at rallies & especially at music festivals. Arrive Thursday evening, work from the van during the day on Friday (when nothing much happens at festivals), then I'm all ready to down tools at 5pm Friday & I'm there ready to join in, rather than missing the Friday evening entertainment travelling, getting to the festival campsite last & getting pitched miles from anywhere (& I can't walk far).

The van is equipped with mobile broadband and/or wifi & I'm just about to spend money with Motorhome WiFi & Dave Newell to improve it still further (new 3/4G roof mounted low profile aerial), so I can work from the van just about as well as I can from my office at home. About to put in to a sterner test from France in May.
