You can get reduced cost trips early in the season when the companies buy new vehicles and need them delivered to the west coast. Duration is a bit limited as are dates but worth considering if it fits.

If you can identify the companies who did it last year (OK, this year!) they may be able to offer something for next season.

A few years ago we did Toronto to Calgary via Jasper and Banff. A few interesting places but generally the prairies are a dump.
Drive all day see something every mile, it can be just a few trees, or a fallen down barn, to a building you think no-one can live there but there is a car parked by it. Some places are a bit better, then very occasionally you see a grand place behind high walls and strong gates. It seems that the land was divided up in mile lots, some people made it other didn't, only a very few made it big time.

We hired from Canadream. if you book before a certain day, may be the end of the year, you get two "early bird" deals we took, from memory, unlimited mileage and the one way option. Usually you can leave your suitcase and the start-end depot, but with one-way travel you must store your suitcases throughout the journey. Take cases with wheels or else beg borrow or steel a Canadian two dollar coin as you will need it to get an airport trolley.

Note a Canadian one dollar coin is known as a "Loonie" a two dollar coin is called a "Toonie". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toonie

We used Canadream in Delta, Vancouver BC a few years ago, a nightmare experience, we would definately not rent from them again based on our previous experience.

Try Cruise Canada. We have used Cruise America who every spring have a one way special offer at reduced rates for delivery of new RVs which are built by Thor / Four Winds in Elkhart Indiana.
These are from Chicago to depots across the US and from Toronto to destinations in Canada.
Our last trip was in May/June 2012. I believe May / June are the last deliveries.
For info look at www.cruiseamerica.co.uk who are the UK agents and will mail you if interested of each delivery schedule.
