Hi, I am a complete MH newbie and just bought my first one. It's an Adria Coral 660SL and comes with a Truma 6E combi heater with blown air.

Many years ago I used to have a caravan  that had a heater (Cramer or Truma??) with a blown air unit on the back. In summer I could leave the heater off but switch the blown air on so it gave a cooling breeze around the van. Is there any way I can do that with the Truma 6E please. No mention in instructions, but just hoping!!

Thanks in advance

we have a coral 670 in short the answer is NO! the fan is contolled automatically by the temp selected and air temp of the van.

Thought that might be the case, but worth asking and thanks for the quick reply. You would have thought they would allow it but seems not.

dont think it would be that effective as the air intacke is inside the van so you would just be pushing the same air about at not a lot of speed

Same with the old caravan, but it did create a bit of a breeze that cooled things down a bit. Is the only alternative a habitation AC unit and can you only get the replacement roof vent type or are there others I wonder?

you could use a small desk fan, say 9" or 12", through an inverter if off hookup.

the power draw would be low and it would move more air than the blow air ducting.

heres one using just 30watts...thats around 2.5amps, probably a lot less than the blow air fan.

we use a desk fan.....if required.

roof mounted aircon units can add a fair bit of weight and hurt your payload:Eeek:

The 6E can be fooled into blowing cold air. Set it to electric only (i.e. not gas or gas+ electric) and set the temperature dial to full. Then disable the electric supply to the heater (unplug the hook-up lead or switch the circuit breaker off). It does stop the hot water working as well, so you have to decide priorities, but at least you get the air movement.

Wow. My thread has been resurrected after a year!

Just tried dbh1961's suggestion, but, sadly, it does not work.

Following recommendations on this forum I will probably get one of when I am over in the States in August visiting our daughter
