It seemed like a good idea but there still aren't that many pubs, also from reading the forum it seems that it is understood that you will have a drink or a meal in the pub. If I want to go in a pub for a drink or a meal I prefer it to be where & when I want & not part of the condition of stopping the night. Although the site does say the first night is free with no obligation reading the forum posts comments such as impolite or mean not to go in for at least a drink it implies that you should use the pub.

As mentioned before, we have found several pubs on our journeys who let you stay the night anyway. Maybe we ought to start our own recommendations.
